The Delhi Flying Club Ltd was established in the year 1928 for promotion of Aviation Industry related activities in India. Since then it has had the distinction of training hundreds of Pilots & Engineers. It has in the past trained luminaries as Commercial Pilot namely Shri Rajiv Gandhi - late Prime Minister of India, Shri Biju Patnaik -late Chief Minister of Orissa, Air Marshal PC Lal - Chief of Air staff. It was the Institution's which started Air Mail services in India at Delhi as was also involved in training of Armed Forces personnel during Chinese operations. It is now among the pioneer and premier club which is involved in training of personnel in areas viz. Commercial Pilot licence, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Air hostess and Cabin Crew and Drone operating. The club earlier was operating from Safdarjung Airport at Delhi till 2018 when it had to vacate the said premises. It has now restarted its Aviation related activities at NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh. The social activities are in partial operation, at partner facilities -The Foreign Correspondents Club, South Asia, Mathura Road Delhi. The Club is managed by Managing Committees whose members are, Dr BBL Madhukar as Chairman, Capt PJB Khorana, Shri. Amit Sharma as Secretary and Shri Ranjan Chabhra. Aviation School at NOIDA is a joint venture activity which is in collaboration with Eastern Opticals Private Limited, Delhi. The venture is now commencing training of students for Commercial Pilot licence and Air Hostess and Cabin Crew. The School shall in due course also start its Air Craft Maintenance Engineering course for which application has already been made to DGCA.
